Welcome to Historias Extranjeras
This is a space created to share stories.
Being a foreigner is not just about moving to another country. It's about discovering unfamiliar places, getting to know others, and allowing them to get to know you.
It's a process of vulnerability, where you open up, show who you are, and give others the opportunity to understand and appreciate your reality.
And perhaps, it's in those moments that we stop being strangers and begin to feel like locals.
Moving to a new place doesn't mean forgetting where you come from. It means gradually embracing a new environment, a different culture, new people, and new ways of life.
Until one day, you discover a new version of yourself, in a place you can finally call your new here.
So, join me as we listen to stories of dreams, courage, and perseverance, told by people who have dared to follow their dreams.
About me
My name is Sonia Guzmán Rentería
I'm passionate about art and people. I studied Industrial Design and Marketing, and one of my greatest passions is discovering stories. I've lived in different cities and countries; I love observing the streets, talking to people, and discovering their worlds through their stories.
I firmly believe that we can build a better society when we give voice to diversity. Understanding makes us more empathetic, and empathy is the key to making this world a better place for everyone.
